Our Story: From Friends to Founders

It all started with a shared dream between two friends, Kara and Cato, during their university days in the heart of Cape Town. Amidst late-night study sessions fueled by mediocre coffee and a longing for real, wholesome bread, a pact was made. They dreamt of creating a space that felt like home—a place filled with the irresistible aroma of freshly baked sourdough and the rich scent of perfectly brewed coffee.

Years of perfecting their craft, countless hours spent nurturing their sourdough starter ('Bertha'), and a shared passion for community led them to Bree Street. SUUR is more than just a bakery; it's the culmination of a friendship and a testament to the simple joy of sharing good food.

We're here to bring you the best sourdough in town and, dare we say, the best flat white on Bree Street. We're so glad you're here.
